EARN Pathway

 

EARN PATHWAY:  Employment Focus Curriculum Program

The focus of these programs is on work readiness and independent living skills. This is achieved through students accessing a high school style timetable approach with a differentiated curriculum that is supported by the QCAA Guidelines.

This approach is achieved through the following:

Students:
  • Access to a rang of programs suited to student strengths and interests
  • Development of independence across domestic, work and personal dimensions
  • Learning skills to develop relationships with a range of staff and peers
  • Access to a range of work training programs helping with employability skill development
  • Completion of Certificate courses/units of competency to further develop work skills and abilities in chosen career fields

 

WORK TRAINING: School Tuckshop

Students take lunch orders and cater every Wednesday for the staff and students.  They deliver orders, manage stock levels and handle the finance.  These students also help to upkeep the kitchen gardens and grow key seasonal ingredients used in menu items.  This program links with the Certificate I: Access to Vocational Pathways VET Program

 

WORK TRAINING: Coffee @ Hervey's

Every Friday students take staff and invited guests coffee orders. Student's barista the coffee, deliver orders, manage stock levels and handle the finance. This program links with the Certificate I: Access to Vocational Pathways VET Program.

 

 

VOLUNTERRING: Meals on Wheels

Students deliver Meals on Wheels orders to the elderly in he Hervey Bay community. This program links with the Certificate I: Active Volunteering VET Program.

 

VOLUNTERRING:RSL Bingo

Students take on clean-up role after the BINGO game has finished every Wednesday at the RSL. This program links with the Certificate I: Active Volunteering VET Program.
