​Schooling is compulsory in Queensland until the age of 16 and students must be learning or earning up to 17 years of age. Children must attend every day and be on time. 

Parents are required to contact the school either on the day of absence (preferred) or on the day of return and provide a reason for their child's absence. The school is obliged to investigate unexplained absences. This can be done by telephoning the on (07) 4197 1777. This number is available 24 hours a day. 

Please leave the following information:

  • Child's full name.
  • Class.
  • Reason for the absence.
  • Date of the absence.

Absences can also be a written note to the class teacher or by email on

Parents of students who travel to school by school transport (disability transport assistance) must also inform the transport provider that their child will not be at school for the period of absence.  Please inform the school of any extended absence so a temporary cancelation can be made.

Collecting children during school time

If a child is required to leave school during the day e.g. doctor's appointment, sickness etc, a parent/carer must sign out their child from the school office and then collect the child from the classroom.
