Volunteers are a valuable part of the Hervey Bay Special School community.  Although many volunteers spend much of their time in classrooms there are many other ways volunteers are used within the school including:

  • accompanying classes on community access visits

  • working in the school grounds:

    • upgrading garden areas

    • painting and maintaining playground areas

  • maintaining school bikes

  • painting school murals

  • running activity workshops for students.

Please note all volunteers must:

  • have a Queensland blue card

  • read and sign the school volunteer induction document

  • participate in an interview with the Principal or Deputy Principal.

If you have a special skill or interest it is likely that we will be able to use it at Hervey Bay Special School.
