Senior Education and Training (SET) Plan

In Year 10, the Senior Home Group Teacher will work with the parent/carer and the student to develop a Senior Education and Training (SET) Plan.  This plan is reviewed in years 11 and 12 to help ensure that the subjects and learning goals remain right for the student and that transition planning remains relevant.

What is a SET Plan?

  • A document which students develop in consultation with their parents/carers and their Senior Home Group Teacher, at times the Transition Officer will also be involved.
  • Designed to highlight your child's individual learning pathway through their Senior Phase of Learning.
  • Requires the student and family to communicate with the Homeroom teacher about the students strengths, learning needs and their thoughts about possible post school pathways for the student.
  • Assists stakeholders to identify appropriate programs for the individual student by examining the students current skill sets and what learning they will need to undertake to work towards their future goals.
  • Provides the opportunity to discuss and explore employment/support options available for the student.
